WESTWOOD, LOS ANGELES — A protest involving University of California workers shut down a busy intersection in Westwood Friday afternoon during afternoon rush-hour traffic.

The demonstration was against a UC announcement that it will impose its last contract offer on patient care technical workers, who are represented by UC’s largest union, AFSCME 3299.

About 25 protesters blocked traffic by sitting in a circle in the middle of the intersection at Wilshire and Westwood boulevards. Officers issued a notice to disperse, and then began making arrests.
