Over UC’s Illegal Attacks

UC workers are taking a stand against the University’s serial lawbreaking. This time, UC announced a system-wide hiring freeze and unilaterally imposed benefit cuts to new hospital workers without bargaining either over the effects on us, our patients, and our students.

Over 13,000 frontline UC Service and Patient Care Workers have left their jobs in the last four years due to declining job quality. These are the folks who pick up the call button when there’s an emergency, who feed students, who keep UC clean, and so much more.   

The UC Californians Depend on is in Trouble. UC acknowledges that its staff vacancy rate has tripled since the COVID-19 Pandemic, and that its staff vacancy crisis threatens campus and hospital services. It’s why workers are taking a stand today and demanding accountability!
