Solidarity Strike April 1, 2025!
UPTE-CWA 9119 is holding a one-day ULP strike on April 1 against UC’s unfair labor practices. Like us, they have been affected by UC’s bad-faith bargaining, which has been preventing them from reaching a fair and just contract. We won’t stand by. We will be going on strike in solidarity!

Our strike is legal, and the Labor Board has ruled that virtually all service and patient care workers can go on strike. A small number of employees will report to work, and some workers will be required to be on call to take care of patients.
Below are links to the lists of workers who will EITHER be required to work or required to be on call during our strike.
Required to Work | If your name is on this list, you must report to work for a full shift. UC cannot mandate you to work more than your required shift.
Required to be on call | If your name is on the list, you can still join the picket line, but you must be ready to report to work if you are called in.
If your name is not on that list, WE WILL SEE YOU ON THE PICKET LINE!
Tuesday, April 1st, 2025
Picket lines start at 6 AM – 4PM
Strike itself begins at midnight (12AM) on April 1 and ends at 11:59 PM on April 1, 2025.
If you’re UCI — Los Alamitos, Lakewood, Placentia, and Fountain Valley, report to the UCI Med Center location.
If you’re UCSF – St. Francis or St. Mary’s please report to either UCSF Parnassus or Mission Bay. Don’t want to cross the bridge? That’s ok, please report to the UCB line instead or whatever is closest to your home address.
