AFSCME Local 3299 is a democratic union that is run by and for our members. The Executive Board is our highest decision making body and is elected every three (3) years, and 2020 is an election year.

Nominations are open for the following positions:

In the coming days, members of 3299 will receive a nomination package to their home address. The package will include an announcement letter and a nomination form.

All union members that are in good standing since October 26, 2019 are eligible to run for office.  To nominate someone or yourself, you must send your nomination form by mail to Election Committee, PO BOX 1494 Oakland, CA 94606 or email to electioncommittee@afscme3299.org by Friday, September 25, 2020. All forms should be postmarked by Friday, September 25th, Faxed or hand carried nomination forms will not be accepted.

All forms must include: The name of the candidate, office position they are running for, current mailing address, phone number, and email address, and slate card if applicable.  Candidates may also include, but not required,  a statement of no more than 100 words that explain their qualifications, reason for running, views about the union, or any other information that they wish to share with members about their candidacy. Statements over 100 words will be edited to fit the word count. Statements may be written in any language. All statements will be translated into English, Spanish, Chinese, and Tagalog. Candidates may also include a ‘head-to-shoulders’ picture to go along with their statement.

The above information will be published and sent to our membership prior to voting. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and public health orders limiting in person activities, voting will be conducted electronically and via phone during two week period from October 26th and ending November 9th.  The election committee will conduct limited voting assistance session for members on campuses and medical centers on Thursday, October 29th. Times and locations will be posted on here, our website, by Thursday, October 1st.
