Trade unionists and some labor contingents joined the environmental rally and march in Richmond to the Chevron refinery which has a history of explosions and contaminating the workers and people of Richmond.

Unionists Speak Out At Protect Our Environment Demonstration In Richmond And March To Chevron Refinery To Oppose Oil Company Pollution
Dozens of trade unionists joined a demonstration in Richmond, California on August 3, 2013 against the oil companies plan to export tar oil from Canada and the continuing contamination at the Richmond Chevron refinery.

The CWA, AFSCME, SEIU, Unite Here and many other unions supported the rally. A Unite Here Local 2850 member addressed the rally in English and Spanish before the march.

Also anti-war pro-labor activist Cindy Sheehan discussed the role of Democratic Governor Brown in relation to the oil industry.
