AFSCME ANNOUNCES UC PATIENT CARE STRIKE LOCATION AND SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Sympathy Strikers, Elected Officials, Students and Others to Join Patient Care Workers on Picket Line

Statewide: AFSCME 3299 today has announced the locations, schedule of events, and a list of expected dignitaries who will be joining members on picket lines in connection with this week’s Patient Care Technical Worker Strike at UC Medical Centers.

The strike includes nearly 13,000 Patient Care Technical Workers in the UC Hospital System, as well as Sympathy Strikers from the UC Hospital Service Unit represented by AFSCME 3299, and members of UPTE-CWA 9119. The Strike comes after nearly a year of stalled negotiations with UC Administrators over a range of issues, including patient safety, staffing levels at UC hospitals, and the increasing diversion of patient care resources into skyrocketing compensation packages for UC Health Executives.

Strike/Picket Times: Tuesday, May 21st from 6am to 11pm, Wednesday, May 22nd from 6am to 11pm.
