ORANGE – About 200 union members and supporters picketed UC Irvine Medical Center Tuesday afternoon to decry the loss of 175 health care jobs.
More than 100 UC Irvine Health workers used their work break or their day off Tuesday to picket at UCI Medical Center in Orange in response to 175 employee layoffs that began this month.
Claiming that their jobs are being eliminated even though profits are up and the facility is understaffed, health workers, students and worker union supporters plan to rally and picket at UC Irvine Medical Center today.
